Sarnia Jr. Sting Peewee vs. LMHA

The Sarnia Jr. Sting Major Peewee’s
had their second game of the season against the third place LMHA
Thunder. Chris Winch started in net for the Sting. Winch had to
make a great save on a Thunder break away early in the period.
At the 7 minute mark of the period, Justin Lindsay scored the
first goal of the game on a pass from Chase Henne.
In the second period the Sting were
short handed and managed to kill off the penalty on good fore
checking by Tristan Reeb. The Thunder scored the tying goal at
the 6 minute mark. The Thunder were penalized on the next shift
and C.J. Montanaro shot low from the point and the puck was
deflected by a defenseman into the net for a 2-1 Sting lead.
With 1 minute to go in the period, Austin Williams found himself
on a break away and deposited the puck into the net for a 3-1
lead.
The Thunder found themselves on the
power play and at the 12:35 mark of the third period they scored
a goal to cut the lead to 1. The Thunder kept pressing and with
6:30 left in the period, they tied the game on a deflected point
shot. Both teams had opportunities to score but the game ended
in a 3-3 tie. The LMHA Thunder out shot the Sarnia Jr. Sting
Peewee’s 15-10. |
