Sarnia Peewee MD vs West London
Hawks
Kinsmen Arena
The Sarnia Jr. Sting Peewee MD team
and the West London Hawks met again for the second time in 5
days. Chris Winch had the start in net for the Sting. The two
teams came out hitting once again but the Sting found themselves
down a man and the Hawks scored on the power play with 2 minutes
left in the period. The Hawks kept the pressure on and found the
back of the net again with 27 seconds left in the first to make
the score 2-0.
The Sarnia Peewee’s ran into penalty
trouble once more and were quickly down two men. With 10 seconds
left in the first penalty, the Hawks scored to go ahead 3-0. The
Sting found themselves in the penalty box for most of the
remainder of the period but the Hawks were unable to add to
their lead.
In the third period Matt Hodgins,
Brendan Hewton and Koen Gendron made some nice passing plays and
Matt Hodgins was able to get one past the Hawks netminder.
Despite more penalty trouble for the Sting, good saves by Chris
Winch and tenacious forechecking kept the Hawks off the
scoreboard and with 10:00 minutes remaining in the period,
Justin Lindsay scored. The Sting kept pressing but were unable
to tie the game. The final shots were 20-10 Hawks.
The Sarnia Peewee’s next game is at
the Clearwater Arena on November 15, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. against
the SSE Wild. |
