Sarnia Jr. Sting vs. North London Nationals
October 9, 2007

Carling Arena

The Sarnia Major Peewee MD team traveled to the Carling Arena in London to meet the North London Nationals in the Tier 2 division. The game was the season opener for both teams and everyone was looking forward to a game with no curfew.

Greg Loucks got the start in goal for the Sting.  North London had the first penalty of the game and despite great pressure and quality shots, the Sting were unable to score. The Sting kept up the pressure but the period ended in a scoreless tie.

The Sting got the first goal of the second period at the 8:00 minute mark. Koen Gendron jumped on a rebound and got his first goal of the season. Less than 2 minutes later, Garrett Deley found a juicy rebound and pocketed his first of the season to make the score 2-0.  Justin Lindsay almost made it 3-0 but the North London goalie made a huge save.

In the third period, the Sting were a man down when Greg Loucks made a spectacular save to maintain the shutout. Matt Hodgins, Colin Lange and Chase Henne all had marvelous scoring opportunites. With 45 seconds left in the game, Colin Lange tipped in a shot from Kyle Classen to finish the scoring. The final was 3-0 for the Sting and Greg Loucks got the shutout after facing 14 shots.
