Lady Sting post a 2-2
tie with a much improved Windsor team
This time it was
Bryanne Roberts to the rescue! The Sting had their hands
full facing a much improved Windsor Aces team. The first
two periods were scoreless, with the Sting applying most
of the pressure. If not for the stellar goaltending from
the Aces net minder this game might have been out of
reach early.
The Aces however struck
first in a goal mouth scramble making it 1-0. 7 seconds
later Roberts single handed won the face off and skated
in all alone and finally popped one in. With just
under 2 minutes to go Windsor made it 2-1.
But the cardiac kids
didn't give up. With the goalie pulled for an extra
attacker, it was Roberts again in a goalmouth scramble
who banged home her second of the game and 8th of the
season on a rebound with just 17 seconds left. Assisting
on this goal was line mates Lauren Wilson and Kristin
Parkes. Naomi Dubs was solid in net for the Sting. The
tie keeps the unbeaten streak alive heading into 2008,
when their next league action is in Guelph on January
12th.
The girls travel to
Guelph on January 4th, 5th, and 6th for a tournament.
Good luck girls and Happy Holidays to all.
