Laura Wilson Memorial Hockey Tournament

The Sarnia Lady Sting Atom
"A" team travelled this past weekend to Strathroy to compete
in the Laura Wilson Memorial Hockey Tournament and came home
with a Silver Medal.
While its early in the
season the team showed moments of what hopes to be a great
season!
In Game one on Friday night
Sarnia came out against a hungry Bluewater Sharks team and
skated to a 2-2 tie Naomi Parsons and Beatrice Dufour
tallied for the Sting. Picking up assists were Claire Vanden
Eynde, Avery Devereaux, and Leslie Brandon. Nicole Will was
solid in net.
In Game two on Saturday,
The Sting shut down the Barrie Sharks 2-0. Kristin Parkes
and Beatrice Dufour scored the games only goals while Naomi
Parsons recorded an assist. Naomi Dubs was solid in net and
picked up the shut out.
Game three on Sunday was
the championship game between Sarnia and Bluewater Sharks.
This was a close tight checking affair with both clubs
getting their chances. The Sting came up just short falling
2-1. Kristen Parkes scored the Stings lone goal assisted by
Bryanne Roberts. Nicole Will turned in a great performace,
making many key saves to keep the game close.
The Sting's season begins
at home on Saturday October 13th at 11:15a.m against Guelph
at the S.S.E.C.
