Game 3 was playedSaturday @ 12:45 pm it was a sudden death game, win and you move on, lose you go home. Sarnia vs Kitchener. The teams have played 3 times this yr in the Intermediate B/C division, Kitchener won one game 2-0 the other games ended in ties 0-0 and 2-2.The game started out very quickly Sarnia scored 16 seconds into the game Kailey Whitlaw scored with assists going to Danielle Laird and Becky Healy. Kitchener came right back to tie the game 9 sec. later. THE pace stayed at a fast pace and at the 5:07 mark Sarnia scored, Jessica McIntyre from Kyri Meyers. Period 1 ended 2-1 for the Lady Sting.

In the 2nd period only goal scored was by Kitchener. The game was back and forth and with 2:55 left in the 3rd Sarnia scored, Kyri Meyers from Becky Healy. With just under 2 minutes to go Kitchener pulled their goalie but couldn't put the puck past Melissa (Melvin) Carey. Final score Sarnia 3 - Kitchener 2(.Finally had 11 skaters for this game) Onto the semi final.

The semi-final was to start at 5:45 pm but didn't get started until 7:45 pm Sarnia was playing ThunderBay. Because of the caliber of hockey games were so close that overtime was played in a lot of the games on Sat.(3periods - 4periods and 1game went 8 periods of o/t )Not knowing anything about Thunderbay coach JR had the girls play a very discipline game. At the 7:28 mark Sarnia scored a powerplay goal, Kyri Meyers from Stephanie Meriam ,The score lasted until 1minute left in the 1st,thunderbay scored to tie the game.1-1 after one .

As with other games this day there was no scoring in the 2nd or 3rd periods, off to o/t for the girls .At 7:21 of the 1st o/t period Stephanie Meriam scored with Kyri Meyers getting the assist. Final Sarnia2 - Thunderbay 1. Off to the FINALS...

Finals Sarnia vs Stratford. Good game both teams skated well Sarnia with only 11 skaters started to tire and took a few too many penalties. Stratford opened the scoring with 2:18 left in the 2nd period. Sarnia tied the game at 5:09 of the 3rd on a goal from Jenna Whitfield with assists going to Kailey Whiitlaw and Danielle Laird.Stratford scored on a 5 on 4 powerplay goal with 1:14 left in the 3rd.Sarnia pulled their goalie and with Stratford two men down still couldn't find the back of the net.

The girls played well all weekend from the first game (9skaters),10 skaters for the 2nd game and 11 for the rest of the weekend, the girls have nothing to be ashamed of and can  be very proud of themselves. I know their coaches are Jim Rawson who coached the team all weekend and Trainer Carol Whitfield and coach Jim Whitlaw who had to stay at home recovering from knee surgery (chewed off all his fingernails) are very proud of everyone of the girls.
