Sarnia Fury U18 wins first round in Ontario Cup

Last year around this time this talented group of guys from Sarnia Fury U18 Woysl, travelled to Virginia to capture the U.S. National Indoor Championship with the support of many local businesses. This team finished their outdoor season in London WOYSL in second place missing first place by 1 point.  The team once again finished the London District Youth League capturing for the second yr in a row the Top Scorer which went to Sean Robinson with 20 goals for the season and Top Keeper went to Matt Nutt for his 6 shut outs and 13 goals against.

The team qualified to represent Southwester Ontario in the round robin OYSL tournament. This tournament takes the top 2 teams and places them in the highest level of soccer OYSL. The fury fought hard and placed third.

This team plays indoor in London for the winter.

On wed Jan 2, 08  eleven players from the Sarnia Fury U18 boys participated in the first round of Ontario Cup at the Optimist Dome in London.. We went up against the London Portuguese PCL and Sporting de London.

The Fury beat the PCL 2-0. Scoring the first game was Adam Dasilva and Colby Bucci. We then went on to rap it up and beat Sporting 3-0. Goal scorers for that game were Pat Stewart, Colby Bucci and Adam Dasilva. Both shut outs go to keeper Matt Nutt.

The Fury will proceed to Vaughan to play at the Coffee Time Stadium Feb 2-3 for the tournament round, semis and final. We are representing Region B.

The coaches Tim Primeau, Vince Bucci and Chris Nutt along with the Sarnia Boys would like to congratulate these boys for their commitment, dedication and determination to make this team as successful as they have been. This will be their last yr together before they move on to play at the University level.
