The game was a lot closer than head
coach Kent Helps would have liked,
but his Petrolia Squires
team won 7-5 to take a 3-0
strangle-hold over Goderich.
"I know I am giving a cliché answer,
but we have to learn how to play a
full 60 minutes,"
Kent said with a smile after the
game.
"But a win is a win and we are
looking to end the series on
Sunday."
The Squires lead 3-1 after 20
minutes and 7-3 after forty but they
allowed the determined
Goderich team back
into the game.
"We need to improve in our defensive
zone," the coach said.

"We are playing well from the red
line in."
Petrolia, who only
lost three games all season has been
taken to the wall by the eighth
place Goderich team.
After winning game one and two by
only a goal, the Squires allowed two
goals in the third and had it not
been for some dazzling saves
by Squires Starter Darryl Foster the
game could have gone the other way.
The Squires also did catch some
breaks.
Goderich
starter Ryan Shelton
wasn't on the top of his game and
allowed some goals he would admit he
would like to have back.

"I should be happy," Kent said. "I
think our guys just want the series
over."
The two team hook up in Goderich on
Sunday. If game five is needed it
will be played Friday at the
Greenwood Centre in Petrolia.
