Petrolia takes win in Shoot out!
October 18, 2008
The Squires were on the road to Mitchell for
their first meeting with Monkton. With 2 big
wins under their belt they were met with a
strong opponent on this night.
Heading into the final seconds of the game
the Squires were trailing 3 - 2 when they
scored with just 2 seconds left on the clock
to tie to send the game into overtime.
Overtime didn't decide the winner so it went
to the shootout to come up with the winner
with the winning goal scored by Simpson.
Other goal scorers in the game for Petrolia
were Jason Polera with 2 goals and Danny
Larocque
with a single. Assisting on the goals
were Craig LaFramboise, Chris McPhail, Greg
Bailey and Ryan Chapman.
Deon Keller, Pat McClure and Chris Gibson
each scored singles for Monkton.
The Squires are now 3 - 0 for
the season and look to continue the streak
next week when they host Clinton on Friday
October 24 at the Greenwood Recreation
