Squires win 5th Straight!

In the first
period Petrolia scored first on a
powerplay with Jason Polera scoring from
Jeremiah Goodacre & James Edgar.
Exeter answered back a minute and five
seconds later with their own powerplay
goal by Andrew Carey from Tyson Clinton.
Before the period was through Petrolia
went on and added two more goals to end
the period leading 3 - 1. Scoring
his second goal of the game was Polera
from Lee Cole and Chris McPhail.
Mike Perry scored the final goal of the
period assisted by Chris Edgar.
In second period action Petrolia
powerplay continued working as they
opened their lead with Greg Bailey
scoring from Jeremiah Goodacre & Danny
Larocque. Scott Hull put the
Squires up 5 - 1 less than a minute
later with Ryan Chapman & Steve Bryce
helping. Back to back power play
goals by Exeter narrowed the gap to 5 -
3 with Andrew Maver from Greg Schepers
and Doan scoring the first goal and
Jeremy VanBorgen from Jeff Smale & Scott
Davies adding the second powerplay goal.
Exeter would score once more before the
period was through to narrow the gap 5 -
4 with Scott Davies scoring from Jeremy
VanBorgen & Andrew Maver.
Third period
action saw Exeter come back and score a
short handed goal to tie things up.
Jeremy Georffrey scored the unassisted
goal for Exeter. From this point
on Exeter ran into penalty troubles as
Petrolia went on and scored 4 powerplay
goals. The first powerplay goal
gave Jason Polera his third goal of the
game for the hat trick assisted by Chris
Edgar. Greg Baily from Jeremiah
Goodacre scored the second and Chris
Edgar from MikeGardner
and Carson Simpson added the third and
the final goal of the night was by Lee
Cole from Danny Larocque and Scott Hull
giving the Squires the win with a final
score of 9 - 5.
Steve Bryce earned the win in net for
Petrolia with a total of 16 saves.
Kevin Corbett was outstanding despite
the loss with a total of 36 saves.
Next
up the Squires host Lucan on Friday
November 7 with a 8:00 pm game start at
the Greenwood Recreation Centre in
Petrolia.
