Just under 1200 people took in this game and were treated to a display of great saves, plenty of scoring and a showing of what it means to play as a team.  During the final three minutes of the game it seemed as though each member of the Legionnaires put forth an extra effort to ensure that Matt Berglund would get his first shut out of the season.  Taking the loss in goal for Chatham was starter Mike Ostropolec.

1st Period:  Sarnia got scoring started with a Tyler Lewis marker at 7:05 with assists to Chris McGuffin and Clark MacPherson.  Then near the 8:30 mark Scott Stafford skated down the left wing and made a cut to the net where he fired a shot that was initially stopped but a big rebound came out and roofing the puck up and over a downed Ostropolec was Tyler Peters with an additional assist to Jordan Black.  Sarnia's Zack MacQueen took an interference minor with 23 seconds remaining and Chatham began the second period with the man advantage.  Shots on goal:  Chatham - 10   Sarnia - 12.  The Maroons were 0 for 3 with the man advantage and Sarnia was 0 for 1 on the power play this period.

2nd Period:  While sliding across the crease on his knees, Tyler Peters fired a shot on goal and lit the lamp for the third Sarnia goal at the 13:38 mark.  Prior to this goal the play was back and forth with both teams having puck possession and chances on net.  A couple of roughing minors were handed out at the 14:30 mark when Mike Rivard (Chatham) and Jesse Drydak (Sarnia) found their sticks entangled with each others' for a bit.  Then a slashing minor at 18:13 would put Andrew Sokol of the Legionnaires in the sin bin for two minutes but his team mate Jesse Drydak notched a short-handed goal 51 seconds later.  Sarnia found themselves playing short for 54 seconds  as Clark MacPherson went off to the sin bin for a two minute time out on a boarding minor.  Shots on goal:  Chatham - 11/21   Sarnia - 10/22. Chatham was 0 for 2 with the man advantage and Sarnia was 0 for 1 on the power play this period.

3rd Period:  Scoring his second of the evening at 2:45 was Tyler Lewis and picking up assists were Tyler Peters and Chris McGuffin.  Some roughing and a tilt took place at the 3:36 mark and getting to take an early shower from this game were Colton Thornton (Chatham) and Clark MacPherson (Sarnia).  An interference minor at 7:15 put Kevin Closs of Chatham in the sin bin but he only stayed there for nine seconds as the Legionnaires power play unit struck for the 6th Sarnia goal.  Lighting the lamp red for the home team was Matt Abercrombie from Craig Hottot.  With 2:53 remaining the final goal was notched by Craig Hottot and picking up an assist was Andrew Sokol.   Shots on goal:  Chatham - 11/32 Sarnia - 15/37.  Chatham had no power play chances this period and were 0 for 5 in the game.  Sarnia was 1 for 2 on the power play this period and were 1 for 4 in the game.
