Berglund
and the Legionnaires "Stonewall" the Maroons
Final
Score: Chatham - 0 Sarnia - 7
by Deb
Lawrence
Just under
1200 people took in this game and were
treated to a display of great saves, plenty
of scoring and a showing of what it means to
play as a team. During the final three
minutes of the game it seemed as though each
member of the Legionnaires put forth an
extra effort to ensure that Matt Berglund
would get his first shut out of the season.
Taking the loss in goal for Chatham was
starter Mike Ostropolec.

Tyler Peters with an

sliding across the crease on his
knees, Tyler Peters fired
a shot on goal and lit the lamp
for the third Sarnia goal at the
13:38 mark. Prior to this goal
the play was back and forth with
both teams having puck
possession and chances on net.
A couple of roughing minors were
handed out at the 14:30 mark
when Mike Rivard (Chatham) and
Jesse Drydak (Sarnia) found
their sticks entangled with each
others' for a bit. Then a
slashing minor at 18:13 would
put Andrew Sokol of the
Legionnaires in the sin bin for
two minutes but his team mate
Jesse Drydak notched a
short-handed goal 51 seconds
later. Sarnia found themselves
playing short for 54 seconds as
Clark MacPherson went off to the
sin bin for a two minute time
out on a boarding minor. Shots

at 7:15 put Kevin Closs of
Chatham in the sin bin but he
only stayed there for nine
seconds as the Legionnaires
