ALVINSTON OFF TO SECOND ROUND

 
The Alvinston Indians advanced to the second round in St. Thomas & District Major Fastball League Playoff action.  After a 5-1 win in Fingal versus Shedden in game 1, Shedden returned for game 2 in Alvinston on Sunday.  Numerous fans were on hand to enjoy the game, and the game remained scoreless going into the top of the third.  It was then, that Indians pitcher Doug Charlton accidentally struck Shedden Mission player Chad MacPherson in the face with a ball.  MacPherson was unfortunately hurt on the play and was unable to continue in the game.  With the loss of MacPherson, Shedden was left with only 8 players, and therefore Shedden did not have 9 players to continue in the game, and Alvinston was awarded a win by forfeit.  The Indians need to play the waiting game to find out who their second round opponents will be.  
 
We hope to see all our fans out again in round 2 for exciting playoff action.  Stay tuned for our second round playoff schedule.
