INDIANS WIN ON THE ROAD
After a two week hiatus from the
game of fastball, because of rained out games, the Alvinston
Indians were on the road tonight in Blenheim, and scored runs
early and often.
The Indians cranked out 5 home runs, with Scott D. Smith
hammering two home runs, and Theo Metron, Scott Smith, and Ryan
Chapman each collecting one, as that pushed the Indians to a
10-3 six inning mercy over Blenheim.
Scott D. Smith, and Eric Hyatt were 2/4 for the Indians, while
Theo Metron and Andy Triest were both 2/3 in the contest.
Scoring for the Indians were Metron (3), Scott D. Smith (2),
Chapman (2), Hyatt, Joe Triest, and Smith. Driving in the runs
were Scott D. Smith (3), Metron (2), Smith (2), Hyatt, A. Triest,
and Chapman.
Doug Charlton was the winning pitcher on the mound, allowing 8
hits, and 3 earned runs, while striking out 2. Jason Toll had 2
RBI's for Blenheim, with Jeff Drummond collecting the other
RBI. Darren Smale took the loss for Blenheim, allowing 12
hits, 5 walks, and 9 earned runs.
With the 10-3 win, the Alvinston Indians improved to 4-5 on the
season in St. Thomas & District Major Fastball League action.
They travel to Palmerston this weekend, for the very important
ISC II Qualifier tournament.
