ALVINSTON
FALLS TO MORPETH

The Alvinston Indians travelled to Morpeth last night, and lost
out on a slugfest affair, losing 7-5 to Morpeth. Ryan Chapman
had 4 RBI's for the Indians, as he was 2/3 with a walk,
including a two-run homerun in the opening inning. Andy Triest
was also 2/3 in the game with a triple, while Shawn Fenton was
1/2 with an RBI. Brady Davenport played his first ever game for
the Alvinston Indians, starting at shortstop, and had his first
hit and run come in his first at bat.
Greg Moore and John Ferguson shared the pitching duties for the
Indians, with Ferguson earning the loss in relief of Moore.
Lee Hopkins was 4/4 for Morpeth, with 2 doubles, 2 runs, and 2
RBI's. Nathan Speed provided the insurance run for Morpeth,
hitting a solo home run in the bottom of the 6th inning.
The Alvinston Indians are off to the St. Clements Fastball
Tournament this weekend, to compete in their first tournament of
the season.
