Last evening the Alvinston Indians fell on the road, by the final score of 6-3.  Shedden bounced out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning, which Alvinston could never entirely erase.  Alvinston scored 3 in the third to make it close, but Shedden added a single run in each of the next 2 innings to win by the final score of 6-3.  John Ferguson suffered the loss on the mound for the Indians.  Ferguson was relieved by veteran righthander Doug Charlton who returned to the Indians for his first game in the 2009 season.  Charlton pitched 2 innings without allowing a run.  Joe Triest was 2/3 for the Indians in the game.  Steve Donald, Chris Drew and Joe Triest counted runs, while J. Triest, Ryan Chapman, and Scott Smith drove in the Indians' runs. 
 
Alvinston is now 3-5 on the season, missing out an an opportunity to return to the .500 level in STDMFL action.  The Indians travel to Mitchell this weekend, for the Mitchell Tournament.
