ALVINSTON EARNS GAME 3 WIN
September 15, 2009
Last
evening, the Alvinston Indians travelled to Glencoe for
game 3 of the semi-final St. Thomas and District Major
Fastball League playoff matchup with Glencoe.
The Indians
sent Brad Young to the mound, while Glencoe countered
with Steve Cook. The game went back and forth early on
until the fifth inning, when Alvinston finally got to
Cook and Glencoe with a 2 out, 2 rbi single by Joe
Triest with the bases loaded that plated Chris Drew and
Brad Young. Glencoe threatened in the bottom of the
seventh, but only managed one run, with the final score
being Alvinston 2, and Glencoe 1. Brad Young earned the
win for Alvinston, pitching effectively over 7 innings,
while allowing 4 hits, and striking out 6. Cook
suffered the loss for Glencoe, while Winship came in in
relief. Alvinston was able to muster 3 hits against
Glencoe, but earned the all important game 3 win.
Game 4 goes
Wednesday night in Alvinston beginning at 8:00pm. Then
the Indians travel to Stratford this coming weekend, for
the Ontario Challenge Cup. |
