Alvinston Indians
2010 Baseball
The Alvinston Indians play in the St. Thomas and District fastball League.

August 31, 2010

The series continued with the visiting team being the victors again on Tuesday night in game 3 of the St. Thomas & District Major Fastball League semi-final.  The Morpeth Magic advanced to the league final with a 4-0 shutout win.  Kyle Vink's two-run home run in the second inning got Morpeth going, after Alvinston left the bases loaded in the bottom of the first without scoring.  They added another run in the third and one more in the fifth.  Joe Triest, Andy Triest, and Greg Fowler had the only Alvinston hits, in Greg Guy's strong performance on the mound for Morpeth, as he collected the win and shutout the Indians.  Brad Young suffered the loss on the mound for Alvinston, while John Ferguson kept Morpeth off the scoreboard when he entered in relief.

All-in-all it was a strong season for the Alvinston Indians, who finished with a 45-14-1 record on the season, in 60 games of play.  Highlights of the season included their ninth place finish at the World's, and their Frankenmuth, tournament win .
