Alvinston Indians
2010 Baseball
The Alvinston Indians play in the St. Thomas and District fastball League.

Alvinston at Morpeth
July 9, 2010

On Friday, the Alvinston Indians travelled to Morpeth, and met a hot hitting Morpeth squad, who put together several hits, en route to a 10-3 victory.  Alvinston jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, when Donald doubled in the first inning with one out, and was followed by Chris Drew who traded spots with Donald.  Ryan Chapman then came to the plate and crushed a two-run homerun, to put the Indians up 3-0 early.  However, from there it was all Morpeth, as they scored three in the second, 5 in the third, 1 in the fourth, and 1 in the sixth, off of the lone Indians pitcher on hand, Doug Charlton.  Greg Guy spanked a three run home run for Morpeth, which put them up 6-3, which ultimately set the tune for the game.  Greg Guy was also the winning pitcher for Morpeth, and after the first inning, he allowed only singles to Donald and Andy Triest the rest of the way, as we was sharp on the evening.

Alvinston's record is now 12-6, and they host Glencoe  on Sunday, in hopes of getitng back on the winning track yet again.  They are now in a heated battle with St. Thomas for first place in the league.
