The Alvinston Indians played
at home on Thursday evening, and defeated the Glanworth
Gators 7-1. The game remained tight until the fourth
inning when Alvinston took the lead for good. Aaron
Stocking had the big hit for Alvinston, smacking a solo
homerun to go ahead 2-1. Jeff Lyons started for the
Indians, pitching three innings and allowing the only
run, while Brad Young came in in relief, allowing no
hits over 4 innings, and striking out 9. Aaron Stocking
was 3-4 for Alvinston, with two singles, a homerun, 2
RBI's, and a run. Jamie Shields also had a multihit game
going 2-2 with a walk. Scoring for Alvinston were
Shields (2), Joe Triest, Andy Triest, Chris Drew, Ryan
Chapman, and Stocking. Driving in the runs were Chapman
(2), Stocking (2), Drew (2), and Young.
The Indians are off to Innerkip this weekend for the ISC
qualifier.
