Last night the Alvinston Indians lost their first game of the season, losing a 1-0 affair to the Belmont Brewers. Belmont opened the scoring in the first inning with their only run against Indians starter John Ferguson. However, Ferguson shut the door the rest of the way, pitching six innings of one run ball. Brad Young came in in the seventh, and kept things as is, but the Indians couldn't muster a run. The Indians were 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position, which was the difference in the game. Chad Hargrove was the winning pitcher for Belmont, pitching a fantastic game for the well deserved win.
