The Alvinston Indians were
on the road last evening, as they traveled to Glanworth
to play the Gators.
Glanworth opened up the scoring against Indians starter
John Ferguson, in the opening stanza, scoring one run.
The Indians finally got on the board in the second
inning counting one run, and then added another single
run in the third, for a 2-1 lead. The Indians then
opened things up in the fourth inning, scoring 4 runs,
and then added 2 more runs in the fifth, for an 8-1 win
over Glanworth.
Chris Drew had three hits for Alvinston, while Steve
Donald, Ryan Chapman and Brad Young each had multi-hit
games in the Indians win. John Ferguson was the pitcher
of record for Alvinston, capturing the win. Travis Pavey
made his Indians debut on the mound, pitching one
scoreless inning, and recording the final three outs of
the game.
Scoring for the Indians were Eric Hyatt (2), Kenny
Pumfrey, Andy Triest, Drew, Jeff Ingram, Chapman and
Jamie Shields. The Indians are at home tomorrow night,
for an 8pm fixture against the Glencoe Astros.
