Stoke’s Inland Green Devil’s
Move into First Place!
The Stoke’s Inland Green
Devils used the heat to their advantage in picking up a
pair of wins over WMA Promotions moving the Green Devils
into first place overall in Wednesday night Bluewater
Major Two Pitch league action. Game one saw Tony Manzon
go three for four and Rich Verwegen hit home run in the
15 – 12 come from behind win; while in game two, Manzon
was a perfect four for four and Mike Dark, Rich Verwegen
and Jay Armstrong all went five for five in the 31 – 15
Green Devil victory.
WMA Promotions were led in
game one by Josh Doran and John Hardick both going four
for four at the plate; while Jeff Maitland was solid on
defense in left field and Todd Lotz on third base made a
nice fake and tag on a Green Devils base runner cheating
towards home plate. In game two, Todd Lotz hit a solo
home run and Jim Barber hit a stand up triple.
Two Amigo’s Two and
SIS/Brady’s Bunch split their games with Two Amigo’s Two
winning game one 19 – 9 and SIS winning game two 24 –
12. Randy Pullen led the way for Two Amigo’s two going
six for six, with two home runs including a grand slam;
while Brian Treulieb was three for three. In game two
Randy Pullen hit another home run in the loss. SIS
Brady was led on offence by Seth Lippiatt with seven
hits including two home runs with one being a grand slam
and Eric Colquhoun contributed seven hits as well.
Two Amigo’s defeated Lehder
twice picking up four points on the night winning 17 –
14 and 19 – 16. Craig Chalmers hit a pair of home runs
and Kris Reed hit a home run in the win for Two
Amigo’s. Lehder was led by Corey Murray and John
Lester, home runs; while Rich Chesher hit an inside the
park home run and Adam Taylor went three for three. In
game two, Kevin Battle hit a home run in the loss.

Wednesday at the Clearwater diamonds, there are only
four weeks left in the regular season.
