June 7 – Scott David Hits for the Cycle in Bluewater Major Two Pitch

 

Action resumed Wednesday night in the Bluewater Major Two Pitch league, SIS Brady won a pair of games defeating Puck Around (16 – 9 and 10 – 3) and picking up six points on the night, game two was for double points.  Leading the hitting attack for SIS Brady Dale Wagner, Seth Lippiatt, Randy Grant and Lester Thompson all contributing at the plate with 6 hits each.

  The Stoke’s Inland Green Devils Scott David hit for the cycle in game two pacing the Green Devils to a pair of wins defeating Two Amigo’s 20 – 8 and 25 – 2.  The David cycle was capped off with an exciting inside the park home run.  Other Green Devil contributors included Domenic Flamminio, John Fowlie, John Verwegen, Randy Cunningham and Tommy Coyle hitting two home runs on the night.  Dan Bergeron was four for five and had a solid defensive game for Two Amigo’s.

In what can only be described as great comebacks by WMA Promotions, they just could not push the final run around in game two to tie or win as they dropped a close game to Lehder losing 18 – 17; however WMA did win game one 22 – 13. Brothers Mike and Todd Lotz hit home runs and combined for five runs scored in the opening game victory.  In game two, WMA scored ten runs in last inning but could not push the tying run around as it was stranded on second base, Mike Lotz and Josh Doran hit home runs in game two for WMA.  Lehder highlights included Brain Kabat going five for five and Kevin Battle was four for four while Jim Lapointe, Rich Chesher and John Vassey all chipped in with three RBI’s each in the game one loss.  In the game two Lehder win, Kevin Battle homered and drove in four runs, while Lapointe, Chris Luke and Battle all went four for five.  Chesher and Corey Murray added three runs batted in.

 


Scores from May 30 are as follows, Stokes Inland Green Devils lost a double point game to Puck around 13 – 8; however came back to win game two 16 – 9.  SIS Brady took six points by wining a double point game 9 - 5 and 7 – 4 over Two Amigo’s.  Two Amigo’s Two also took six points by defeating Lehder 16 – 8 and 22 – 3.

 

Action continues next Wednesday night at the Clearwater diamonds with games getting under way at 6:30pm.
