Sarnia Bantam Braves Win Home Opener

The Sarnia Bantam Braves took on the Oakridge Bantams for a 9-5 win at home on Thursday night. Starting for the Braves, Josh McCaig threw for 3 innings giving up 0 runs on one hit while striking out 3 and walking 1, coming in for the fourth and fifth inning was Dominic Bucci allowing 1 unearned run, fanned 3 and walked 3, in for the close Austin Lanteigne gave up 4 runs, 3 earned, struck out 2 and walked 2. Leading at the plate Curtis Robichaud went 3-4 with a double, 3 rbi's and scored 3 runs, Bucci was 2-2 with double, 2 walks and also scored 3 times, Lanteigne went 2-3 with double and 2 rbi's while McCaig was 1-4 with a double and 2 rbi's and Nick Maitland went 1-2 with a walk. Mike Rocca also made an outstanding catch in right field with bases loaded and 2 out in the fifth inning. The Braves are back home on Thursday, May 29 at Errol Russell Park, 7:30 pm to take on the Eager Beaver Minors.
