Sarnia loses close OBA playoff game with Chatham

Sarnia Braves Major Mosquitoes 1 lost a close baseball game with Chatham 8 to 5 in Western Counties league play and as a game counting as the first game in a best 2 of 3 series to decide who represents Western Counties in the level 'A'  Ontario Baseball Assoc. (OBA) provincial playdowns. Sarnia held the lead twice 1-0 in the first inning and 4-3 in the fourth inning before going behind 6-5 in the fifth and giving up two more in the bottom of the sixth. Kobe Lundy, DJ Lussier and Jordan Pavey pitched well for the Braves allowing only 3 walks but giving up 16 hits. DJ took the loss on the Chatham runs scored in the fifth. Travis Moore and Sam McCormack each had 2 hits and 2 RBI's for Sarnia. Kobe Lundy had a double and a single while Jordan Pavey and Travis Moore also had 2 hits apiece. Sarnia played well defensively, playing errorless ball and recording two double plays in the game. Each side left 8 runners on base. The game was delayed for about 20 minutes at the start of the sixth inning due to a storm threat in the area.
