The Midget
Braves hosted the Bantam Badgers in a
double header Friday night at Errol
Russell Park. The second game finished
as the rain began, but it was a treat to
enjoy the games without bundling up
against the cold.
In game 1 the Badgers opened with a run
in the top of the first, but with bases
loaded with 2 walks and a hit by pitch
Sarnia pulled ahead with RBI's by # 29
Justin McCarthy, #3 Rory Fell, and #12
Patrick McKay. The score after 1 inning
was Badgers 1, Braves 4. Sarnia scored
a single in the 3rd when Fell hit his
second RBI single of the game. Sarnia
went on to score 5 in the 4th with #7
Wade Babula's triple, #23 Corey Brown's
RBI single, a RBI double by #35 Cam
Graham, Fells second single, and #27
Anthony Shepherd's 2 run single. The
final score was Bantam Badgers 1 -
Sarnia Braves 12. #29 Justin McCarthy
pitched the 5 inning game allowing 2
hits and pitching 5 k's.
In the
second game Sarnia scored first with 4
runs in the bottom of one. The Badgers
walked 5 Braves allowing the Braves to
score on passed balls and a single by #7
Wade Babula and an RBI single by #16 C.J.
Donahue, however the Braves ended the
inning with bases loaded. Sarnia scored
2 more in the second with a 2 run double
by #3 Rory Fell. A second double for
Fell in the 6th scored the final run for
the Braves. Fell pitched 7 innings and
gave up one hit with 7 K's. The final
score was the Bantam Badgers 0, Sarnia
Braves 7.
