The Sarnia Braves Peewee baseball
team opened the 2008 season with a 13-7 win over the
visiting St. Thomas Cardinals at a chilly Tecumseh Park
Thursday night. Vince Caschera, Dylan Whitbread, and
Mitchell Bigras combined efforts for the win while
getting 10 strikeouts on the evening. At the plate,
Caschera, Whitbread,and Bigras led the way there as
well.
Caschera was 2 for 3 and an r.bi.
Whitbread was 2 for 3 with 2 r.b.i. and Bigras was 3 for
3 with 2 r.b.i. It was a solid effort for the first game
of the season. The team is in action again Saturday at
Micmac Park in Windsor for an exhibition game against
the Windsor Stars.
