Week of ‘Lost’ Ball for
Minor Braves

Braves Minor PeeWees have lost their last five games
over this past week. They include losses to St. Thomas
10-2, Corunna 11-1, double header losses 13-6 and 10-6
to St. Thomas again and a 7-6 loss to Oakridge Tuesday
night. Each time fielding errors and walks have been
costly although the bats went silent at times as well.
Highlights for the Braves in the losses included a two
run home run by Brayden Thomas over the fence at
Tecumseh Park in the second game of the double header
with St. Thomas on Saturday, the first such hit by any
members of the Minor Braves this year. In last night’s
close game with Oakridge, Kyle Adams pitched a strong
four innings giving away to relief pitching with a 6-3
lead. In that same game, Brock Morgan drove a long
triple to centre field driving in three runs with the
hit.
The
Braves will need to improve as they play a game tonight
with Wyoming, rescheduled from an Aug. 8 rainout and
head into the LDBA playoffs this upcoming weekend. |
