Sarnia
Braves Minor PeeWees defeated North London Nationals 9
to2 Monday in baseball action at Tecumseh Park on a
clear warm night.
Richard
McIntosh got the start and pitched for the win giving up
the 2 runs on 4 hits. Yenel Olivero came on in relief
and pitched two innings of closing relief allowing no
further runs and making a spectacular throw to first for
an out while on his back after diving for the ball.
The
Braves knocked out 10 hits but also left 9 runners
stranded on base. Ryan Walker was on base 3 times with
two singles and a walk, scoring two runs and driving one
run in. Devin Butler added two hits with two RBI’s and
Yenel scored twice on two hits as well. Drew Morgan made
the most of his opportunities scoring two runs on a hit
and a walk.
Braves Comeback to Tie, then Lose

Sarnia
Braves Minor PeeWees came back from a 8-3 deficit with 5
runs in the bottom of the sixth inning against St.
Thomas to tie the score at 8 in LDBA baseball action.
St. Thomas however, scored 5 of their own runs in the
top of the seventh and when the Braves couldn’t respond
secured a 13 to 8 victory.
Kyle
Adams got the start on the mound and pitched a strong 4
innings. Tyler Gillis took over in relief and shut down
the Cardinals for two innings. When he got into trouble
loading the bases in the seventh, Richard McIntosh came
on to close out the final inning. Yenel Olivero led the
13 hit attack by the Braves going four for four at the
plate with a double and three singles and driving in 3
RBI’s. |
