2009 Sarnia Braves
Mosquito

Saturday, August 1 at Clearwater

Game #1

Mosquito Braves 7- St. Thomas 5

The first place team in the London loop came to Sarnia, the first game of a doubleheader. The Braves played an exceptional game both offensively and defensively. Jordan Marks pitched awesome throwing  four innings, striking out seven. Brennan Healy came in relief pitching excellent as well with six strikeouts in three innings. The offense was led by Ryan Brown who had two triples and three RBI.’s. Jameson Hart had two hits, driving in two runs. Brock Morgan and Brayden Groulx knocked in the other two runs as Brett Allardyce scored two runs. Great game Braves.

Game #2

Mosquito Braves 3- EBBA 2

The second game featured the third place team EBBA from London. With some stellar defense behind him, Jameson Hart pitched very strong striking out nine batters, allowing one run in four innings. Brayden Groulx finished off  the competition by tossing the last three innings and securing the win. There was numerous defensive plays made that excited the crowd. Brock Morgan and Jordan Marks each had two hits while Brett Allardyce, Brennan Healy, and Morgan scored the runs. A great job considering the Braves were playing against all major mosquito players where Sarnia has only two majors(Brandon Shanks, Morgan), nine minors (Marks, Brown, Groulx, Hart, Healy, Josh Brown, Logan Kilner-Holmes, Jake Burgess, and Ethan Hunt) and two rookie age players in Brett Allardyce and Dillon Schaffer. Great baseball Braves! Coaches Todd Shanks, Steve Shanks, and Greg Groulx  were thrilled.
