Sarnia Braves Major
Peewees scored three in the top of the last inning
to come from down two then held on in the bottom of
the inning to record a 10-9 win over St. Thomas in
LDBA baseball action this evening (July 28). It
capped a gritty comeback after the Braves gave up 7
runs in the bottom of the first. Sarnia scored 5
runs to start their comeback in the third innings
then added 2 in the fourth before the rally in the
last inning. Ryan Walker, Mat Szabo and Yenel
Olivero pitched for the Braves with Yenel recording
the victory. His work on the mound helped to
keep St. Thomas off the scoreboard in the last 3
innings of the game. Boady Santavy recorded two key
hits driving in two runs and scoring a run. Jordan
Pavey drove out a double and with three walks as
well, scored two runs. Devin Butler lined out a
double and a single scoring a run and Ryan drove in
a run on a double down the right field line. The
Braves connected on 10 hits to 5 for St. Thomas.
