Braves win
in Bottom of Last Inning
by Norm
McIntosh
June
17, 2010
In a tight game with
Wyoming in Major Peewee baseball action Thursday,
Sarnia got a key hit in the bottom of the sixth with
the bases loaded and one out by Mat Szabo to record
a 7 to 6 walk off win. The sixth was the last inning
because of time curfew. Ryan Walker got the start on
the mound and pitched a very effective game but gave
way to Richard McIntosh in relief in the fourth with
one out, two on and the Braves down by one. The
Braves were helped by effective pick plays
defensively to hold Wyoming to only one more run
while scoring three to secure the win for Richard.
Ryan helped the team offensively as well with a
triple and a single driving in three runs and
scoring two himself. Each team recorded seven hits.
The Braves left 9 stranded to only 3 left on base
for Wyoming.
