Wyoming Midgets take home gold at Chatham Tournament
 
The Wyoming Midgets won the Chatham Tournament by making it to the
semi-finals as the wildcard team and then defeating the team that handed
them their only loss in the championship game.  They displayed solid pitching
and flawless defense throughout the tournament.
 
 
Game 1
July 18th - Centennial Park in Blenheim
Wyoming 4 - North Toronto 6
 
After North T.O. jumped out to an early 4 - 0 lead Wyoming was able to battle
back and tie the game at 4 but T.O. managed 2 more runs to win the game.
 
Tim Boersma and Mitch Robb pitched for Wyoming.
 
Aaron Gibbings recorded 2 singles while individual singles were hit by
Mitch Robb, Scott Fowler and Chris Bright.

Game 2
July 19th - Centennial Park in Blenheim
Wyoming 5 - Petrolia 0
 
Russ Muhlig and Mitch Robb combined to strike out 11 batters allowing only 1 hit.
 
Offensively for Wyoming, Chris Bright doubled and Mitch Robb singled.
Chris Freer laid down a successful sacrifice bunt.
 
10 walks were issued to Wyoming batters.
 
Game 3
Wyoming vs. Tecumseh
Wyoming won this game by default.
 
Game 4
July 20th - Fergie Jenkins Field in Chatham
Wyoming 6 - Amherstburg 5
 
This was a see-saw game from start to finish with Wyoming coming out on top by one run.
 
On the mound for Wyoming was Mitch Robb and Tim Boersma.
 
Robb also led the offense with a double and a single, Jared Vanruitenburg connected
for a double while Russ Muhlig and Ben Dupuis each hit 2 singles.  Scott Fowler
and Trevor McCormick recorded individual singles.  McCormick's RBI single
turned out to be the game winner.
 
Game 5 (Championship Game)
July 20th - Fergie Jenkins Field in Chatham
Wyoming 7 - North Toronto 1
 
Russ Muhlig was strong on the mound pitching the majority of this game, but had
to be relieved by Mitch Robb when he reached his maximum pitch count.
 
Wyoming bats were hot in this game led by Scott Fowler's 2 doubles.
Steve Gray and Aaron Gibbings each connected for a double and a single.
Mitch Robb hit a double while Muhlig recorded 2 singles.
T.J. Kennedy also singled.
