MIDGET BASEBALL TEAM'S RECORD STANDS AT
10-2-1 AFTER
KINCARDINE TOURNAMENT
The Wyoming
Midget's finished their 1st tournament of the season
with a tie,
loss and a win as follows:
June 14th -
Wyoming 6 - North
London 6
Wyoming jumped out
to an early 3 - 0 lead but allowed North London to
score 5 in
the 2nd and 1 more
in the top of the 6th and take a 6 - 3 lead.
Wyoming was able to get 3
back in the bottom
of the 6th to tie the score. North London had last
bats but could not break the tie.
Adam Casier started
on the mound but was relieved by Tim Boersma.
Steve Gray and
Scott Fowler each connected for a double. Singles
were recorded
by Chris Bright,
Ben Dupuis, Russ Muhlig, Mitch Robb and Adam Casier.
June 15th -
Wyoming 0 - Owen Sound

This was a tough
loss as Russ Muhlig pitched a very strong complete
game allowing only one
earned run. He
allowed a total of 4 hits and struck out 7.
Wyoming's offense put the ball in
play but just could
not find any holes (they only struck out once the
whole game).
As well as pitching
a great game, Muhlig recorded Wyoming's only 2
hits (a double and a single).
June 15th -
Wyoming 8 - Kincardine

The team's 3rd game
of the tournament was a see-saw battle with Wyoming
coming
out on top against
a very strong Kincardine team.
Mitch Robb pitched
5 1/3 innings, striking out 6 but had to be relieved
when he
reached his maximum
pitch count for the day. Tim Boersma came on in
relief.
Wyoming scored a
run in the 3rd but gave up 2 in the top of the 4th.
Wyoming scored 5 more
in the top of the
5th but gave 2 back in the bottom of the 5th holding
on to a 6 - 4 lead.
Kincardine scored 3
in the top of the 6th to take a 7 - 6 lead but, in
an exciting finish,
Wyoming scored 2
more with their last bats to win the game 8 - 7.
Trevor McCormick
and Tim Boersma each hit 2 singles. Ben Dupuis
connected for a double
and Chris Bright
hit a ground-rule double (one-hop over the fence in
centre field).
Singles were
recorded by Russ Muhlig, Mitch Robb and T.J.
Kennedy.
McCormick had 3
RBI's and Boresma scored 3 times.
