Game 1

Huron Lakers 14 vs. Livingston Lynx 20

 

In the first game, the Lakers were up against some pretty tough competition - the Livingston Lynx.  The girls had a pretty closely matched game, leading at half time by a score of 11 to 8.  The two teams rallied back and forth, but the Lynx broke away with the win.  Leading the score for the Lakers was Caroline Hummell with 6 points with Caroline shooting 4 for 6 at the free throw line.  Allison Deery chipped in 3 points, Paige Tucker & Melissa Blair each added 2 points and Kristi Pugsley connected one of her free throws for an additional 1 point.

 Game 2  

Huron Lakers 34 vs. Waterford Wave – Cooperrider 16
 

 In the second game of the day, the Lakers came out missing quite a few scoring opportunities on lay-ups, but were able to hold the lead after the first half by a score of 12 to 10.  In the second half, the shooting percentage was up to 40% and Kierstynn Pettit was making some excellent screens for her teammates.  Caroline Hummell led with 8 points and sharing 6 points each were Paige Tucker, Melissa Blair and Cassidy Crowe.  Danielle Graham added 4 points and Emily Schaefer & Kristi Pugsley each added 2. 

 
Game 3  

Huron Lakers 28 vs. Michigan Cagers 23
 

In the last game of the day, the girls were playing very well defensively.  Emily Schaefer, Kierstynn Pettit and Cassidy Crowe set up some very good screens, allowing their teammates some great scoring opportunities.  Leading the offense with 8 points apiece were Melissa Blair and Caroline Hummell.  Melissa Blair was hot at the free throw line sinking 4 for 4.  Cassidy Crowe connected with 6 points and Danielle Graham, Allison Deery and Kristi Pugsley rounded out the scoring with 2 points each.  Some very good passing amongst the team, in this third game of the day, allowed for the scoring opportunities.
