Frisco Texas

Dominique Pegg of Sarnia Ontario, a member of Bluewater Gymnastics Club Inc., won the all-around silver medal in the Senior F.I.G. category at the 2010 WOGA Classic in Frisco Texas.

It was an excellent field of competitors, with athletes from around the world representing 8 nations including Rebecca Bross USA the recent runner up in the all around at the 2009 World Championships, and the Individual Vault “world champion” Kayla Williams.

Other nations included, Ukraine, USA, Japan, New Zealand. Unfortunately due to the very unusual weather the Russian Delegation was turned back after spending a few days in NYC.

Pegg is preparing for the upcoming 2010 Tyson American Cup. She was one of just a few (6) international invitees to the event by the USA Gymnastics Federation President. Others include:

Germany, Elisabeth Seitz
Japan, Yuko Shintake
Mexico, Elsa Garcia
Romania, Claudia Voicu
Switzerland, Ariella Kaeslin
United States, Rebecca Bross
United States, TBD

“The WOGA Classic was an excellent event for Dominique to try and hone her skills and try a few new ones to test their stability before the American Cup in Boston” said her coach Elizabeth Brubaker

The Experience at American Cup will be excellent for Dominique to start to compete with some of the finest Senior Gymnasts in the world as she continues to prepare for the Pacific Rim Championships in Melbourne Australia, and the World Championships next Fall in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Dominique’s Bluewater teammate Emily Bigras also had an excellent showing at the WOGA Classic with a 9th all- around result in the Senior Division.
