Week 10
Bluewater Power Titans - 41 vs.
The Falcons - 16
In the first of 2
semi final games of the Sarnia Flag
Football Association, the Falcons fell
to the heavily favored Bluewater Power
Titans by a score of 41-16. While the
score seems to indicate a one-sided
game, it was anything but that as the
Falcons held the lead by a score of 14-6
at half. But with the Falcons being
short handed with no spares on the
sidelines, the gas started to run out
for the as the Titans slowly plugged
away towards the victory.
Scoring for the Titans were 2 each
from Bryan Weaver and Teppa Wettergreen
and singles from Trevor Waller and
Russell Pettipiece. The Falcon
touchdowns were scored by Scott Elgie
and Shane Mathieu.
Lambton Metal Service Rampage -
48 vs. The Razorbacks - 28
The Lambton Metal
Service Rampage exerted continuous
pressure wearing down the Razorbacks
defeating them by a score of 48-28 in
the second semi-final game. The Rampage
played with confidence while the
Razorbacks had difficulty getting into
stride. Though there were many chances
for the Razorbacks, it was not their day
to upset and now they will have one year
to wait to try again.
Scoring for the Rampage were 3 from Don
Gooding, 2 from Cory Johnson and singles
from Sean Devereaux and Charlie
Mitchell. For the Razorbacks,
touchdowns were scored by Phil Veale,
Andy MacDonald, Kevin Hogan and Mark
Faasse.
With these 2 games complete, the
SFFA Bluewater Championship game is
set. For the second time in 2 years,
the Lambton Metal Service Rampage will
again challenge the Bluewater Power
Titans. While the Rampage will look for
their first SFFA title, the Titans hope
to extend their dynasty with a 5
successful championship. The Bluewater
Cup Championship game will be played at
1:00 on December 6, 2009 at Lansdowne
Park in Sarnia.
Players are reminded that the SFFA
banquet and awards ceremony will be held
on Friday December 4 at Stokes Inland
Bar and Grill. Doors open for the
ceremonies at 5:30 with dinner at 6:30
and award presentation soon after that.
