Week 3
October 4, 2009
Bluewater Power Titans - 38 vs.
The Razorbacks - 19
In the first game of 2
played on Sunday in the regular season of
the Sarnia Flag Football Association, the
Bluewater Power Titans continued on their
unbeaten streak by defeating the Razorbacks
by a score of 38 to 19. While the score
seems one-sided, this game was anything but
that. The Razorbacks played hard and struck
at the Titans from all angles scoring by
touchdowns and with 3 safeties.
In the losing effort, touchdowns were scored
by Phil Veale and Matt Coutt-Smith. For the
Titans, TD's were scored by 3 from Jim
Grasse, 2 by Bryan Weaver and a single from
Trevor Waller. Jim Grasse of the Titans put
on an impressive show today on both sides of
the ball. In addition to the 3 touchdowns,
Grasse also had 1 interception and 13 flags
tying the SFFA league record for Most Flags
in a Single Game.
The Lambton Metal Service Rampage -
48 vs. The Falcons - 30
In another game where
the score does not match the effort, the
Falcon fell short trying to get their first
victory of the season losing to the Lambton
Metal Service Rampage 48 - 30. This game
was very close through the first half with
barely a touchdown separating the teams.
But in the second half, the Rampage began to
click and slowly, they pulled away from the
Falcons denying them that hard wanted
first victory.
For the Rampage, touchdowns were scored
by 3 from Cory Johnson, 2 from Neil
Williamson and singles from Sean Devareaux
and Kevin Cook. Cook made his first game
back this year a memorable return by also
picking up an interception and 4 sacks. For
the Falcons, majors were scored by 2 from
Shane Matheiu and singles from Scott Elgie,
Joe Mason and James Sandy.
With these games brings
the end of the first of 3 round robin blocks
of play. In first place with a perfect 3-0
record is the Bluewater Power Titans. At
second and third respectivelly with 2-1 and
1-2 are the Lambton Metal Service Rampage
and The Razorbacks. Holding last spot with
a 0-3 record are The Falcons.
