The Sarnia Flag Football
Association featured two regular
season games on Sunday September
26 at Lansdowne Park in Sarnia.
The 11:00 game saw a very strong
and competitive match-up between
the Bluewater Power Titans and
The Heat. In this see-saw
battle that saw the lead switch
many times through the game, the
Titans finally extinguished the
Heat by a final score of 32 to
28. Titan touchdowns were led
with 2 from Jim Grasse and
singles from Jason Cain and Joe
Parr. Titan QB Peter Faasse
added to the score with a run-in
TD of his own. Scoring for the
Heat were Joe Mason, Joe Leone
and Pat Wright. Shane Benoit
added to the Heats tally with an
end-to-end run-back touchdown.
The 1:00 game was a very
one-sided affair that pitted the
Lambton Metal Services Rampage
against Phoenix’s Phoenixes. In
this game it was all blue as the
Rampage took control early and
basically man-handled the
Phoenix for most of the game in
this 59-20 tilt. Leading the
Rampage scoring was Corey
Johnson with 4 TDs, followed by
Adam Besterd with 2 and singles
from Sean Devereaux, Don Gooding
and Neil Williamson. For the
Phoenix, majors were scored by
Phil Veale, Andrew Veale and AJ
Sheppard.
October 03 games will see if the
Phoenix’s Phoenixes can rise
from the Rampage fire to defeat
the Bluewater Power Titans at
11:00. In the 1:00 game, the
Lambton Metal Service Rampage
will take on the On-site
Sportswear Power Champs. All
games in the SFFA are played at
Lansdowne Park in Sarnia.
