The Sarnia
Imperial Football club announced on Thursday
their new head coach for the 2008 Season.
Dave Allen has
signed a three year contract. Allen moved to Wyoming
from Atlanta, GA in 2004 with wife Julie and four sons
David, Steven, Griffin and Benjamin. Dave works with
Suncor Energy Products as a Safety Specialist.
55 year old Allen attended and played football for Princess
Anne High School located in Virginia Beach, VA. His
team captured the 1967 State Championship. After high school
Dave accepted a football scholarship to Guilford College
located in Greensboro, NC and played defensive tackle.
Dave's coaching background includes the Milton Junior Eagles
in Alpharetta, GA (2001-2002) and with the SMAA Tyke Eagles
who captured the 2007 Division Champions.

Allen is looking
forward to coaching this level of football and will work
hard in bringing a championship team to Sarnia. He
will create some "southern ways" to the game. Additional
coaching staff will be selected shortly where Allen will be
looking for a solid team in offensive and defensive coaches.
Allen's coaching approach will be strict and the main focus
on "conditioning". He will expects his players to be
in condition coming into the Spring training camp. As
well as being fit he also stated that players must attend
practices. He will implement the "no practice - no
play" rule to his players.
Also it was announced on Thursday evening that the Sarnia
Imperials Football Club will be hosting the 2008 Annual
General Meeting for the Northern Football Conference.
The Imperials are looking forward to hosting the league
executives as well as representatives from each of the other
10 teams.
The AGM will be held Jan 26th at the Stokes Bay Grill and
Bar starting at 10:00 am. |
