Gauthier and

The record setting year continued
for Josh Gauthier of the League Champion Sault Ste. Marie
Steelers from the tabulations of All Star and Awards as
conducted by League Coaches and Players along with statistical
data. Gauthier who set new season standards for Rushing
Touchdowns, Rushing Average and Total Yards in Season was tabbed
as the League Most Valuable Player, Offensive Player of the
Year, August Kangro Memorial Leading Scorer, Championship Game
M.V.P. as well as All Star honours at Running Back and Kick
Returner. It is the first time in League history that one
player has earned that many honours. In the All Star
selections, 17 of the 28 positions saw first time winners.
Veteran Brandon Lewis of the League
Champion Sault Steelers earned his 14th All Star nod
on the Defensive Line which sets a record for one position.
Lewis has also garnered 13 straight nods on the Defensive Line
which is also a record. As well, with Lewis earning Defensive
Player and Defensive Lineman of the Year honours, that pushes
his Career Awards total to 15, also, a record. Josh Gauthier
also tied a mark as he earned his 4th August Kangro
Memorial Leading Scorer Award. This ties him with Sudburys
John Miller who earned the award from 1991 to 1994 and Tri
Citys Jonathon Nedeljkovic who earned his fourth last year.
The League Champion Steelers led the
way with 9 All Star nods followed by the Oakville Longhorns whom
earned 4 kudos. Toronto Maddogs, Toronto Raiders and League
Finalists Tri City Outlaws each had with 3 apiece. The Sarnia
Imperials got 2 All Stars while North Bay Bulldogs had 1. The
