Sturgeon Peewees Victorious
June 20, 2010

The Sarnia Sturgeon Peewees won their second game in a row over the visiting Mississauga Rattlers at Norm Perry Park Sunday with a run smothering defense.

Aden Alkinani and Josh Kita led the Sturgeon defence, each with 4 tackles in the Rattler backfield. The defensive line dominated the Rattler O-line, shutting down any offensive threat the Rattlers could muster.  The Rattler defense was strong too, and the first half ended in a scoreless tie.

In the second half, the Rattlers, who dressed only 19 players, began to be worn down by the Sturgeon.  Early in the third quarter quarterback Keyshaun Jordan opened the scoring on a 6 yard scamper to the right putting the Sturgeon up 6 -0.  The Sturgeon defense continued to dominate the Rattlers.  Midway through the fourth quarter the slippery Jordan scored his second major of the game on a nifty 45 yard run.  The lead ws increased to 14-0 on a successful 2 point conversion, as Jordan passed to a diving Dylan Fais.  Jamie Campbell led the Sturgeon offense with 95 yards on the ground.

The Sturgeon hit the road next Sunday traveling to Oakville to face the Titans.  This will be the first meeting of the year between these two teams.
