In 1974 the Sarnia Bopra Juniors A team won the O.A.S.A. Championship.  The team was coached by Neil Howson and managed by Sippie Scholtens and sponsored by Ralph Bopra.

Larry Lucas (outfield), Lou DiMuzio (pitcher), Brad Elliott (pitcher), Stan Matej (catcher), Gino Cicchini (infield), Alex Adams (infield), Greg Wade (infield/outfield), Al Sarachman (infield), Dale Powell (outfield), Bill Savoy (outfield), Murray Smith (infield/outfield), Frank Stewart (infield), Al Fangeat (infield) and batboy Brian Parizeau.

In claiming the OASA Championships in round 1 they defeated Scarborough in 3.  Round 2 saw the young team go up against Grimsby and moved on after winning 2 straight.  In the final series they went up against Owen Sound on Thanksgiving weekend in Sarnia.  In the first game the game was won in extra innings with Sarnia taking the win in the 12th inning on a home run by Bill Savoy.  In the final game they won 3 – 0 to close the series at two games to none.

In league action the Bobra’s played in the Bluewater Senior Fastball League compiling a record of 18 wins and 6 losses.  The team also entered many Senior Men’s tournaments and the Ontario Junior Elimination Tournament held in Oshawa, only to lose out in the semi-final game after playing four games that final day. Other tournaments included Lambeth (Champions), St Thomas (Finalist) and Port Huron (Finalist).  The team finished the season with a combined total of 42 wins and 16 losses.

This group of dedicated young men where more than half continued to play with the Glis Fastball Team and also the Ranson Fastball team which both went on to win Ontario titles in senior ball.  Others continued their successful careers playing and winning the town and Country League and also the Lambton Church League.  Many continued to help develop younger talent by coaching at different levels and groups in SMAA and High School Fastball, Hockey, Football and Track and Field events.
