Lambton vs Brantford
December 6, 2009
Lambton hosted Brantford on Sunday afternoon hoping to complete a weekend sweep and get another 2 points.
The game was a close checking affair with neither team generating much offense - especially the home squad who were without a shot after period one.
Brennan Mckegan made a great play to score for the Jr. Sting in period two by blocking a shot at the point and then dekeing out the Brantford goalie before burying a low wrister low glove. The tight checking continued with both teams getting more chances and the goalies standing tall. The second period ended with the home team up 1-0. Lambton took two minor penalties with seven minutes to go in the period, which put the penalty kill to the test. The boys passed with flying colours keeping the puck out by getting in the shooting lanes and by blocking shots.

The Jr. Sting managed to grind out the 1-0 victory but not without some great stops by Ethan Hunt in between the pipes – including a spectacular pad save with less than five minutes to go.
The win got Lambton the 4 points they were looking for on the weekend and moved the Jr. Sting closer to .500 on the season at 9-11-2.
Ethan Hunt got the win and the shutout in net.
Brennan Mckegan had the 1 goal.
