Final
Weekend -- Predators Junior B Hockey
The final game of the
season for the Lambton Shores Predators will be this
Saturday at The Shores Recreation Centre. The puck
will drop at 7:45 PM when the Predators take on the
Sarnia Legionnaires. Since moving to Lambton Shores
the team has not managed a win against Sarnia. They
are hoping to end that streak and continue to build
on any success next season. Their second last game
is a make up game for one that was postponed earlier
in the season in Chatham. They will take on the
Maroons Friday night at 8:00 P.M. at the Memorial
Arena. Prior to those two games the team will have
played against the Rockets again in Strathroy on
Tuesday.
Last weekend the
Predators played three games in three nights. On
Friday the Rockets were in town.
The Rockets opened the scoring at 7:54 of the first
period. The Predators tied it with a power play goal
at 13:38 when Coy Kulich scored with Brent Andriash
and Duncan McSorley assisting. Then with Strathroy
short handed again near the end of the period the
Predators finally managed to capitalize when Brandon
Stewart scored in the last second of play. Assists
went to Ben Woodley and Samir Jomaa. The period was
dominated by the Predators out shooting the Rockets
17 – 8.
The lead only lasted until 3:15 of the second period
when Strathroy scored a power play goal to tie the
game. They then took a 3 – 2 lead at 4:56. However
the Predators recovered and scored at 16:46 to end
the period tied 3 – 3. It was Cody Curts scoring
from Duncan McSorley and Kalvin Thornton. The
Predators also maintained a slight edge in shots on
goal at 13 – 12.
The first half of the third period was even until
the Rockets scored two goals at 14:06 and 17:02. The
Predators attempted to pull even with six attackers
but Strathroy managed an empty net goal to make the
final 6 – 3.
On Saturday night the Predators hosted Leamington.
The Flyers got off to a good start by out shooting
the Predators in the first period 17 – 13 and took a
2 – 0 lead into the second. The Predators came out
in the second period as an inspired team and
dominated the period with 28 shots to the Flyers 10.
They scored 4 goals to Leamington’s 1 to take a 4 –
3 lead into the third. Predator goals in the second
period were scored by Duncan McSorley with two and

The Predators continued to dominate the play in the
third period and scored the only goal to end the
game at 5 – 3. It was Dan Maidens scoring from Adam
Arseneault and Matt Melo.
The Predators luck ran out on Sunday night when they
