vs Port Colborne Pirates
Lambton Shores celebrate first
win of season!
The Predators have had a
shaky start but their first win is now in the books
as they traveled to Port Colborne and came home with
a 5 - 2 win. This was the first inter
conference game for the Predators with Port Colborne
play in the Golden Horseshoe.
Brent Andriash started
the scoring just over the midway point assisted by
Matt Melo and Kalvin Thornton. Carson Minor of
Port Colborne evened the score later in the period
when he scored shorthanded. With 2 minutes
left in the first Duncan MacSorley put the Predators
back in the lead. Coy Kulich and Rhys Thornton
assisted on the third goal.
In the second period
Lambton Shores scored the only goal to take a 2
point lead. Cam Downie scored assisted by Matt
Melo and Ben Woodley.
Third period action saw
Port Colborne narrow the gap after Carson Minor
scored his second of the night on the powerplay.
In the final period Port Colborne pulled their
goalie for the extra man however Adam Arseneault
found the empty opening to secure the win then went
on and scored his second goal with just :01 second
remaining. Wayd Pitfield and Ben Woodley
assisted on the empty net goal and Dave Hutchinson
and Woodley assisted on the last goal.
Sean Parker was in net for the
Predator for his first win with a total of 37 saves
in the game. Chris Festarini took the loss for
Port Colborne with a total of 20 saves.
Lambton Shores went 0 for 3 on the
powerplay - Port Colborne went 1 for 9.
The Predators are back in action on
Saturday when they host the Guelph Hurricanes from
the Midwestern Conference.
Game time 8:00 pm.
