After celebrating their
first win of the season on Friday, Saturday morning
saw the players gathered and taking part in the
Forest Fall Fair parade. It was also a
chance for the team to show off the Harley Davidson
Motorcyle they are selling draw tickets on. The Bike
was also on display in the foyer during Saturday
nights game.
On Saturday the Predators were hosting the Guelph
Huricannes the boys got off to a slow and shaky
start. They were out shot in the first period 19 –
12 and trailing by 5 before Brandon Stewart scored a
power play goal with Ben Woodley and Cam
Downie earning assists.
In the second the Predators came out playing hard.
They out shot the opposition 15 – 5, but were held
to one goal by Coy Kulich from Brent Andriash and
Cam Downie. The third period was an even
match. Shots were 14 – 13 for the Predators
and both teams scored twice to make the final 7 – 4.
Matt Melo and Wayd Pitfield were the Predator goal
getters in the third period. Kalvin Thornton,
Brandon Stewart, Dave Hutchinson and Ben Woodley
earned the assists.
The Predators now have the week to prepare for a
much anticipated game. In a change from their
regular Saturday night home game the Predators will
host the Sarnia Legionaires on Friday night at 8:00
PM at The Shores Recreation Centre.
The Predators make an unusual Saturday night road
trip to Strathroy the following night when they will
be hosted by the Rockets for a 7:30 P.M. start.
