Petrolia Squires vs Lucan/Ilderton

The Squires were in action at home on Friday night and came up with a 8 - 5 win over Lucan/Ilderton.

After the first period of play the Squires led 4 - 1 with Brad Cooper scoring the first goal, Jason Polera scored back to back goals (the second on the powerplay) and Dan Veenema scored the final goal in the period.

In the second the tables were turned as Lucan/Ilderton clawed their way back and narrowed the gap by one after scoring 4 goals and Petrolia scoring a single to end the second with Petrolia leading 6 - 5. Mike Gardiner scored the lone goal for Petrolia in the second on a powerplay.

In the third period it was all Squires as they went on and scored 3 goals and shut the door on Lucan to take the win.

Craig Laframboise, Dan Veenema and Ryan Chapman each scored for the Squires in the third.

The Squires are now off until Jan 2 when they travel to Milverton and then back home for a make up game against Milverton on Sunday Jan 3 at 4:00 pm.
