Petrolia Squires vs Monkton

Friday night in Petrolia the
Petrolia Squires took a 3 - 2 series lead with a 3 - 2
win over Monkton in Western Ontario Senior Hockey
Playoff.
Things were looking grim as the Squires were trailing 2
- 0 heading into the period. Monkton scored
both their goals in the first period the first on a
powerplay by Tim Vosper and the second by Blake
Underwood.
In the third Brad Cooper started the road to victory
with assistance by Mitch Zavitz. Time of the first
goal was at 6:41. Excitement exploded when less
than two minutes later Carson Simpson scored from Criag
Laframboise to tie the game. Simpson later scored
his second of the night and game winner at 16:14
assisted by Dan Veenema and Craig Laframboise.
Justin Day earned the win
for the Squries making a total of 29 saves. Andrew
Daub took the loss with 26.
The Squries now return to Monkton Saturday night (Feb
27) and are looking to take the series with a win.
If they lose the two sides will return to Petrolia for
game 7 on Tuesday March 2 with a puck drop at 8:30 pm.
