The final series in the Western Ontario Senior AA Hockey League is tied 1 - 1 after Petrolia took a solid 5 - 1 win over Elora in Petrolia Sunday night.

In game one of the series on Friday night the Squires traveled to Elora and lost a close one with a final score of 5 - 4. Petrolia took a single goal lead after the first period on the powerplay.   Elora came back to tie on a powerplay as well in the second.  In the third Elora added 3 goals and went up 4 - 1 before Petrolia answered back with a single.  Elora scored their final goal to give them a 5 - 2 lead.  Petrolia inched their way back with two more goals but were unable to catch the Rock, giving Elora game one in the championship series.

On Sunday before the home crowd the Squires again took the lead in the first period on powerplay goal by Pat Sutton assisted by Ryan Chapman and Aaron Brand.  Period ended with Petrolia leading 1 - 0.

In the second the Squires widened their lead to 3 - 0 with goals by Chris McPhail from Scott Hull and in the last minute of the period Ryan Chapman scored assisted by Kyle Gould and Danny Larocpue.

The Squires took a 4 - 0 lead early in the third.  Justin Day's shut out bid was broken after Elora scored their only goal midway into the period by Rod Bauman.  Before the period ended Petrolia added one more to the count with Danny Larocque scoring from Ryan Chapman and Aaron Brand.

Game three is back in Elora on Friday April 2 at 8:30 pm.  Game four is back in Petrolia the next night Sat April 3 at the Greenwood Rec Centre at 8:00 pm.
